But Macron said <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/emmanuelmacron\/status\/2032254607695487354?s=46\">in a post<\/a> to X that &ldquo;the war in Iran cannot justify such attacks.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;This attack against our forces engaged in the fight against Daesh since 2015 is unacceptable,&rdquo; he said, using the Arabic acronym for the group. &ldquo;Their presence in Iraq is part of the strict framework of the fight against <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/terrorism\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"103\">terrorism<\/a>.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Macron&rsquo;s announcement came the same day the Pentagon revealed a U.S. military refueling aircraft <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/defense\/4490527\/kc-135-refueling-aircraft-down-iraq\/\">was lost<\/a> as it flew over western Iraq amid Washington&rsquo;s move to deploy resources to the region for the Iran war.
