It centers on Kirk’s longtime producer andrew kolvet, who defends Kirk as cautious about regime-change wars while acknowledging the challenging decisions faced by Donald Trump. A two-hour broadcast features Kolvet arguing that Kirk wouldn’t rush to judgment but would accept the political necessity of tough choices, illustrating the ongoing struggle over how to interpret Kirk’s views after his death. The article contrasts anti-war voices like Curt Mills with pro-Trump figures such as Laura Loomer, showing how Kirk’s memory has become a contested tool in GOP politics as the party debates how to respond to Iran.

The piece also covers broader themes around the Trump era’s Middle East policy and media strategy, including a Trump ally’s emergency evacuation from the region, and Trump’s apparent engagement with a wide array of mainstream outlets to shape the narrative around war powers. it notes Republican charges that Democrats are jeopardizing national safety by blocking DHS funding amid a high-alert environment, even as the government shutdown persists. Additional sections point readers to related Washington Secrets stories on Ken Paxton and GOP fractures over war powers, and the article invites reader tips and personal stories about war-zone rescues and political developments.

MAGAworld asks ‘what would Charlie Kirk do?’ as it squabbles over Iran

Welcome to Washington Secrets, your daily look inside the power politics of the nation’s capital.
