It contained a <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1H9SivTusCMSO2En0gIKoAf054Ej9XCHR\/view?usp=drive_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">letter and other documents<\/a> from AT&amp;T informing me that my personal phone records from the 2020 election cycle had been quietly harvested by the federal government years ago, and I was never even told.<\/p>\n<p>I am not the only one. I am simply one of the latest to discover that I was caught in the wide, secret net cast by <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jack_Smith_(lawyer)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Special Counsel Jack Smith<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Prominent figures such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/fbi-subpoenaed-kash-patel-susie-wiles-phone-records-federal-trump-investigation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kash Patel and Susie Wiles<\/a> have already spoken out about being targeted by these stealth subpoenas, but my notification, and those sent to other Georgians I know, prove that this wasn&rsquo;t just about the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/nba-players-were-right-to-worry-about-a-shortened-offseason-injury-spike-proves-it\/\" title=\"NBA Players Were Right To Worry About A Shortened Offseason, Injury Spike Proves It\">high-profile names<\/a> in Trump&rsquo;s inner circle. It was a digital dragnet designed to map the associations of anyone &mdash; including private analysts like me &mdash; who dared to address the irregularities in the 2020 election.<\/p>\n<p>The notification I received was triggered by a new subpoena from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hsgac.senate.gov\/subcommittees\/investigations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations<\/a>, led by Sens. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grassley.senate.gov\/news\/news-releases\/grassley-backs-permanent-subcommittee-on-investigations-subpoenas-to-atandt-verizon-and-lumen-for-records-identifying-arctic-frost-targets\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ron Johnson and Chuck Grassley<\/a>. This is oversight in its purest form: Congress is now subpoenaing the subpoenas. They are forcing telecommunications companies to reveal the identities of the hundreds of Americans whose privacy was breached under the &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Arctic_Frost_investigation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Arctic Frost<\/a>&rdquo; codename &mdash; a Biden-era <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/02\/26\/bombshell-report-biden-fbi-spied-on-trumps-2024-campaign\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Department of Justice operation<\/a> that operated in the shadows of nondisclosure orders.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The &lsquo;Crime&rsquo; of Data Analysis<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>As an election data analyst in Georgia, my &ldquo;crime&rdquo; was simply doing my work. During the window covered by the subpoena &mdash; November 2020 to January 2021 &mdash; I was busy analyzing voter data that suggested we had systemic irregularities in the 2020 election. My research, which I was prepared to present as an expert witness in the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Post-election_lawsuits_related_to_the_2020_U.S._presidential_election_from_Georgia#Trump_v._Raffensperger\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Trump v. Raffensperger<\/a><\/em>  lawsuit, identified as many as <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/01\/16\/lawsuit-uncovers-how-raffensperger-tried-to-memory-hole-the-election-law-trumps-georgia-call-was-about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">35,000 unqualified voters<\/a> who had cast ballots in counties where they no longer lived, a clear violation of Georgia residency laws.<\/p>\n<p>That lawsuit was voluntarily dismissed on Jan. 7, 2021. The timing was no accident; with the electoral certification completed on Jan. 6, the hearing date had been pushed back by the courts until it became legally moot. The dismissal wasn&rsquo;t an admission of error; it was a recognition that the clock had run out.<\/p>\n<p>But the data and corroborating evidence I continued to collect didn&rsquo;t go away. I submitted those findings in May 2021 to the Georgia State Election Board in a formal complaint, only to watch Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger&rsquo;s office <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/01\/16\/lawsuit-uncovers-how-raffensperger-tried-to-memory-hole-the-election-law-trumps-georgia-call-was-about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">attempt to memory-hole<\/a> the very residency laws I was citing. For five years, that case and that evidence have been suppressed, but the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/07\/18\/a-new-election-integrity-minded-coalition-is-helming-the-georgia-elections-board\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">relatively new<\/a> and more <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >election integrity-minded board<\/a> is <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/02\/11\/why-election-crimes-are-rarely-prosecuted-in-georgia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">currently working<\/a> to finally get cases like mine put on their agenda.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Mapping the Network<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>It is clear to me why Jack Smith wanted my records. He wasn&rsquo;t looking for a crime; he was looking for a network. By obtaining my toll records &mdash; who I called, when I called them, and for how long &mdash; the DOJ could map my communications with other data analysts and activists across the country, Trump&rsquo;s legal team, and perhaps even a call I had with White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows.<\/p>\n<p>The most galling part is the secrecy. Smith&rsquo;s team utilized <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grassley.senate.gov\/news\/news-releases\/grassley-demands-answers-from-telecom-companies-who-turned-congressional-phone-records-over-to-jack-smith\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">nondisclosure orders<\/a> to ensure that AT&amp;T could not notify me of their subpoena. Had Donald Trump not been elected president, and had the Senate not launched its investigation into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.judiciary.senate.gov\/arctic-frost\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Arctic Frost<\/a>, I would have gone to my grave never knowing the federal government had rifled through my private life.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Not Hiding<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>I have already responded to the Senate Committee, and unlike the <a href=\"https:\/\/judiciary.house.gov\/media\/in-the-news\/dojs-weaponization-of-government-against-conservatives-under-scrutiny-in-new\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Biden DOJ<\/a>, I have nothing to hide. I am not objecting to their request because the privacy violation has already occurred. If my records can serve as the &ldquo;Exhibit A&rdquo; that proves <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/12\/03\/house-subpoenas-jack-smith-over-brazen-arctic-frost-fishing-expedition-targeting-trump-gop\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Smith&rsquo;s overreach<\/a>, then the public deserves to see them.<\/p>\n<p>This isn&rsquo;t just about me, and it isn&rsquo;t just about 2020. This is about whether we will allow a permanent &ldquo;special counsel&rdquo; class to operate as a secret police force, targeting political opponents and their analysts with the click of a button and a gag order. The Arctic Frost revelations are just the tip of the iceberg.
