I don&rsquo;t know,&rdquo; Biden said, according to The Hill. &ldquo;But folks, it&rsquo;s unbelievable. The guy talks for almost two hours, but never mentions the anniversary of [Russian President Vladimir] Putin invading Ukraine. Never once.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Trump, Biden doesn&rsquo;t mention, did <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2026\/02\/25\/us\/politics\/state-of-the-union-transcript-trump.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">talk<\/a> about &ldquo;the killing and slaughter between Russia and Ukraine, where 25,000 soldiers are dying each and every month,&rdquo; which, true, and how the war &ldquo;would never have happened if I were president, would never have happened.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>While we&rsquo;ll never know for certain, they sure didn&rsquo;t invade while Trump was president between 2017 and 2021. But I digress.<\/p>\n<p>We then got to the meat of Biden&rsquo;s remarks, where he tried to paint the border as being better when he left office than when he entered.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The day I left office, border crossings in the United States were lower than the day that I entered an office inherited from Trump. He is &mdash; I won&rsquo;t say it. That&rsquo;s just a fact,&rdquo; he said.<\/p>\n<p>This did not elicit much reaction from the audience, and for reasons you can probably imagine. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/warrens-hometown-paper-publishes-scathing-op-ed-calling-liar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nevertheless, he persisted.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;On the day I left office, I handed Trump the strongest economy in the world. In the world, that&rsquo;s not hyperbole,&rdquo; he said. &ldquo;That&rsquo;s a fact.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">FORMER PRESIDENT BIDEN: &ldquo;The day I left office, border crossings in the United States were lower than the day that I entered an office inherited from Trump. He is &mdash; I won&rsquo;t say it. That&rsquo;s just a fact.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;On the day I left office, I handed Trump the strongest economy in the world.&hellip; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ZfB0eKkrEF\">pic.twitter.com\/ZfB0eKkrEF<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Fox News (@FoxNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FoxNews\/status\/2027551343460622490?\">February 28, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Sure, there&rsquo;s some obligatory, scattered applause, but really, that&rsquo;s quite the quiet crowd. Biden would go on to say, according to The Hill, that under Trump, the United States was in the middle of &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/brooke-rollins-touts-trump-leadership-shaped-by-dark-days\/\" title=\"Brooke Rollins touts Trump leadership shaped by &#039;dark ...&#039;\">dark days&#038;rdquo<\/a>; with threats &ldquo;amplified in the ways we have never seen before.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Many of these threats, it&rsquo;s worth noting, are basically the function of Biden&rsquo;s time in office. While what he said about the border on the days he entered and left office is technically true &mdash; a speechwriter made sure of that, I&rsquo;m guessing &mdash; it&rsquo;s also wildly misleading. By the time he&rsquo;d left office, it was clear that Trump had gotten elected on cracking down on immigration, and crack down he did.<\/p>\n<p>During Biden&rsquo;s first month in office, there were a little over 78,000 border encounters with those entering illegally, according to Customs and Border Protection <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbp.gov\/newsroom\/national-media-release\/cbp-announces-january-2021-operational-update\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statistics<\/a>. In Biden&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbp.gov\/newsroom\/stats\/southwest-land-border-encounters\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">final month<\/a> &mdash; when Trump took office &mdash; there were over 61,000.<\/p>\n<p>The first full month that Trump took office? A bit over 11,000. It&rsquo;s hovered around there for the entirety of the Trump administration, and there are far more deportations.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, under all available estimates, there were likely well <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/rogue-judge-just-defied-scotus-gets-way-will-take-20-years-deport-bidens-army-illegals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">over 10 million illegals<\/a> who entered under Joe Biden&rsquo;s watch, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-admin-begin-comprehensive-review-every-refugee-admitted-us-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">record number<\/a>, compared with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/major-steps-president-trump-took-2025-tackle-immigration-reform\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">net outflow under Trump<\/a>. But hey, if you compare two months, it doesn&rsquo;t look so bad, right?<\/p>\n<p>As for the claim that Biden&rdquo;handed Trump the strongest economy in the world,&rdquo; as they might say over at Wikipedia, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wikipedia:Citation_needed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[citation needed]<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>America is still battling the effects of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-reveals-exactly-fix-biden-harris-econ-disaster-will-rapidly-defeat-bidenflation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bidenflation<\/a>, and whatever gains we saw were largely due to the AI bubble disproportionately favoring American tech firms. Even then, many companies survived and thrived by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/oil-giant-sells-92-acres-california-offices-ditches-blue-state-red-texas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/americans-fleeing-california-new-york-for-texas-florida-study\/\" title=\"Americans Fleeing California, New York For Texas, Florida: Study\">fleeing blue states<\/a> for red ones<\/a> because of rampant crime and tax burdens, an issue Biden&rsquo;s administration wasn&rsquo;t able to solve.<\/p>\n<p>You look at that and you realize why the crowd in South Carolina was so quiet.<\/p>\n<p>The retconning of Joe Biden&rsquo;s presidency is nearly impossible, particularly when in the thoroughly incapable hands of Biden himself.
