Notably, Coulibaly was previously arrested on Feb. 6 and charged with <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/02\/26\/us-news\/punk-with-rap-sheet-arrested-in-nypd-snowball-attack-and-he-is-not-a-kid-as-mayor-mamdani-insisted\/\">attempted robbery<\/a> at a subway station in the Bronx in New York City.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For the attempted robbery and other related charges, Coulibaly pleaded not guilty. He was released and is due back in court on March 15 for that incident, the <em>New York Post<\/em> reported. As mentioned earlier, Bragg&rsquo;s office declined to pursue charges of assaulting an officer during an arraignment on Thursday evening. When asked about the incident after video of people throwing snowballs at NYPD officers went viral, Mamdani downplayed what happened.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;So, I&rsquo;ve seen videos of kids throwing snowballs at members of the NYPD in Washington Square Park,&rdquo; Mamdani <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/4471234\/mamdani-says-kids-snowball-nypd-officers-no-criminal-charges\/\">said<\/a> on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>He repeated his assessment when reporters again pressed him on the incident.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;From the videos that I&rsquo;ve seen, it looks like a snowball fight,&rdquo; Mamdani said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Not everyone agreed with Mamdani, however, including NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch who said called the ordeal &ldquo;disgraceful&rdquo; and &ldquo;criminal.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The NYPD is aware of certain videos taken earlier today in Washington Square Park showing individuals attacking cops,&rdquo; Tisch&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/nypdpc\/status\/2026128921905803638?s=46\">said<\/a>&nbsp;in a post on X on Monday night.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/crime\/4473050\/man-arrested-assaulted-nypd-officer-snowball-fight-zohran-mamdani\/\"><strong>MAN WITH PRIOR RECORD ARRESTED FOR ASSAULTING NYPD OFFICER IN SNOWBALL FIGHT<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Patrick Hendry, the president of the Police Benevolent Association, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/02\/26\/us-news\/manhattan-da-ditches-cop-assault-charge-in-case-against-washington-square-park-snowball-fight-miscreant\/\">dismissed<\/a> the idea that the skirmish was just a &ldquo;playful snowball fight.&rdquo; He categorized it as &ldquo;an attack on the uniform these <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/proposed-bill-would-give-n-y-gov-power-to-detain-citizens-deemed-a-public-health-hazard\/\" title=\"Proposed bill would give N.Y.
