Last week, President <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"4\">Donald Trump<\/a> said he would start <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/4464625\/trump-release-aliens-ufos-uaps-files\/\" type=\"post\" id=\"4464625\">declassifying government files<\/a> related to the existence of aliens.<\/p>\n<p>The Pizzagate conspiracy theory refers to a child sex ring linked to members of the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/democratic-party\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"288\">Democratic Party<\/a>, and it went viral during the 2016 presidential election cycle when Clinton was running against Trump for president. At one point, a pizza restaurant in <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/washington-dc\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"260\">Washington, D.C.<\/a>, named Comet Ping Pong was caught up in the right-wing conspiracy theory.<\/p>\n<p>Clinton did not name the member who asked the unusual questions, nor whether the lawmaker was a Republican or a Democrat.<\/p>\n<p>The hearing was <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/4473318\/hillary-clinton-deposition-paused-benny-johnson-lauren-boebert-shares-photo-hearing\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/4473318\/hillary-clinton-deposition-paused-benny-johnson-lauren-boebert-shares-photo-hearing\/\">disrupted earlier<\/a> when Rep. <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/lauren-boebert\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"3037\">Lauren Boebert<\/a> (R-CO) shared a photo of Clinton with conservative commentator Benny Johnson, who then <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/bennyjohnson\/status\/2027067846417690630?s=20\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/x.com\/bennyjohnson\/status\/2027067846417690630?s=20\">posted the image<\/a> on social media. As a result of the stunt, the hearing was paused for about 30 minutes. Closed-door hearings forbid unauthorized photography as it could violate House rules and confidentiality agreements.<\/p>\n<p>Clinton denied she ever met Epstein and claimed to never have &ldquo;any connection or communication&rdquo; with the convicted sex offender, although she admitted knowing Maxwell &ldquo;casually as an acquaintance.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>She criticized the GOP-led committee&rsquo;s decision to reject her and her husband&rsquo;s bid for public hearings.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It was disappointing that they refused to hold a public hearing, so I wouldn&rsquo;t have to be out here characterizing it for you. You could have seen it for yourself,&rdquo; she told reporters. &ldquo;We had asked for that. We think it would have been better for the committee and its efforts to gather whatever information they are seeking.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The former Cabinet secretary also slammed oversight committee Republicans for skipping the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/4464534\/hot-mic-les-wexner-lawyer-kill-you-epstein\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/4464534\/hot-mic-les-wexner-lawyer-kill-you-epstein\/\">recent deposition<\/a> of former Victoria&rsquo;s Secret CEO <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/4465085\/why-fbi-never-questioned-les-wexner-jeffrey-epstein\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/4465085\/why-fbi-never-questioned-les-wexner-jeffrey-epstein\/\">Les Wexner<\/a>, whom the FBI labeled a co-conspirator of Epstein.
