Al green (D-TX) for disrupting President donald Trump\u2019s State of the Union by waving a sign and refusing to sit down. Rep. GOP Officials Ahead Of Potential Censure: ... \u2018Lied To You...\">censure resolution<\/a> that condemns Green\u2019s \u201cperformative acts\u201d and notes it\u2019s the second time in less than a year that Green had to be escorted from the House chamber for what supporters call \u201cunpatriotic disruptions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Green\u2019s act involved unfurling a sign reading \u201cBlack people are not apes,\u201d a reference to a widely denounced Truth Social video; several <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/nfl-mimics-other-left-wing-orgs-by-embracing-anti-asian-bigotry\/\" title=\"NFL Mimics Other Left-Wing Orgs by Embracing Anti-Asian Bigotry\">lawmakers attempted<\/a> to remove the sign, but Green persisted before being ejected a few minutes into the speech. This followed a March incident when Green was removed after waving a cane and shouting, \u201cYou have no mandate.\u201d A censure is a formal rebuke that can carry consequences like loss of committee assignments,though the proposed resolution would not remove Green from his committees.<\/p>\n<p>Ther have been two censures in the 119th Congress (Green and Rep. Any member can force a quick vote on a censure by making it \u201cprivileged.\u201d House speaker Mike Johnson has said he does not know if censure is appropriate, noting it is indeed intended to bring shame for actions. Now, it&rsquo;s an <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >increasingly common political practice wielded<\/a> by both parties to condemn their colleagues.<\/p>\n<p>In November 2025, there were four censure votes in one week.
