The <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/4467526\/read-tony-gonzales-explicit-texts-late-staffer\/\">screenshots show Santos-Alives messaging<\/a> with a number saved as &ldquo;TG,&rdquo; Gonzales&rsquo;s initials, that appear to show the congressman pressing Santos-Aviles to send sexual pictures.<\/p>\n<p>Gonzales has denied wrongdoing and characterized the fallout as political blackmail.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mace previously called for Gonzales to resign. <span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">Several&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/4468509\/tony-gonzales-calls-resign-bow-out-2026-race-staffer-affair\/\">other Republican lawmakers have joined Mace<\/a>&nbsp;in publicly calling for Gonzales to resign, while <\/span>others called for him to rethink his reelection bid in the 2026&nbsp;midterm elections.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/lauren-boebert\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"3037\">Lauren Boebert<\/a> (R-CO) was the first to call for Gonzales&rsquo; resignation, saying she &ldquo;had never been a fan&rdquo; of the Texas congressman.
