Comer said the first conviction occurred in 2018, but Epstein was first convicted of sex crimes in Florida in 2008.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>However, newly disclosed <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/epstein-files\/\">Epstein files<\/a> show that Commerce Secretary <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/howard-lutnick\/\">Howard Lutnick<\/a> communicated in Epstein&rsquo;s circle and even visited his private island years after Epstein&rsquo;s 2008 conviction. Lutnick had previously stated he cut ties with Epstein in 2005. A 2016 email to Epstein from Centers for Medicare &amp; Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz, which appeared to contain an invitation to a Valentine&rsquo;s Day party, was also revealed in the files. <\/p>\n<p>Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) reportedly asked Comer to subpoena Lutnick to testify before the congressional panel, but Comer said the commerce secretary is not a primary concern.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Comer maintained that the oversight committee is interested in speaking with anyone with information that &ldquo;can help us get justice for the survivors.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Hannity also mentioned allegations of Trump&rsquo;s association with Epstein, noting that Trump kicked Epstein out of his Mar-a-Lago club.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The Democrats didn&rsquo;t care about Epstein until someone had the notion that Donald Trump was involved,&rdquo; Comer said. &ldquo;What we&rsquo;ve seen from the millions of documents that have been released is that Donald Trump is completely exonerated in the whole Epstein saga.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Trump has acknowledged knowing Epstein but has repeatedly denied any illegal behavior or inappropriate contact.
