The piece portrays Limbaugh as a transformative broadcaster who helped build a political movement and a media empire around his voice, spanning from Ronald reagan’s era through the 1994 Republican Revolution to the 2016 Trump era. It notes that his work energized a cultural shift on the right and that his legacy remains a rallying force for supporters, who celebrate his combination of sharp intellect, humor, and unapologetic conservatism. The article cites tributes from colleagues and fans, including Bo Snerdley, and highlights moments such as Trump’s 2020 Presidential Medal of Freedom tribute, which underscored Limbaugh’s enduring prominence. It also contrasts conservative reverence with left-leaning critiques, arguing that Limbaugh’s approach of clear ideas delivered with wit created a lasting impact that late-night comedians struggle to replicate. the piece asserts that Limbaugh’s influence on political discourse and media endures in the ongoing confidence and identity of the American right.

Five years after his death from lung cancer, conservatives on Tuesday remembered the greatest influencer of them all.

Rush Limbaugh, the radio host and author who built a political movement and a media empire from behind his golden microphone died Feb. 17, 2021, at the age of 70.

And the reverberations of his life and career are still being felt.

Remembering Rush: Five Years On https://t.co/xYml8sQfaV

—
