They don&lsquo;t want poor people to vote. They don&lsquo;t want people of color to vote cause they often don&lsquo;t vote for them,&rdquo; Schumer said.<\/p>\n<p>Schumer&rsquo;s take comes a week after Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA), a vocal opponent of President Donald Trump, argued <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/senate\/4450404\/adam-schiff-photo-id-voter-suppression\/\">the SAVE Act will &ldquo;try to suppress the vote.&rdquo;<\/a> Like the Senate minority leader, Schiff dismissed the polling showing mass support for voter ID.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/in_focus\/4457452\/preposterous-arguments-against-voter-id\/\"><strong>DAVID HARSANYI: THE PREPOSTEROUS ARGUMENTS AGAINST VOTER ID<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Washington Examiner<\/em> investigations editor <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/4412995\/liberal-activists-aggressive-ice-watch-tactics-target-federal-officers-minneapolis\/\">Sarah Bedford<\/a> said Republicans could pass the SAVE Act without eliminating the 60-vote filibuster <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/senate\/4455813\/gop-senate-could-force-talking-filibuster-pass-save-act-sarah-bedford\/\">by using a &ldquo;talking filibuster.&rdquo;<\/a> This would &ldquo;force Democratic members&rdquo; to give speeches on why they oppose this bill.<\/p>\n<p>Bedford also said the SAVE Act being &ldquo;dead on arrival&rdquo; in the Senate would be &ldquo;a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/senate-could-force-talking-filibuster-on-save-act-sarah-bedford\/\" title=\"... could force talking filibuster on ...: Sarah ...\">real failure&#038;rdquo<\/a>; for Senate Republican leadership.
