The proposal pulls together several strategies, from encouraging more multifamily construction to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/san-francisco-courts-ai-retailers-in-effort-to-revitalize-city\/\" title=\"San Francisco courts AI, retailers in effort to revitalize city\">allowing taller buildings<\/a> on smaller pieces of land. Lawmakers argue this segment has been neglected for years, even though it&rsquo;s crucial for affordability.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, the measures are aimed at helping first-time buyers and lower-income Americans find attainable housing. The bill also leans toward supporting developers who focus on small and mid-sized projects, rather than <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >high-end luxury builds<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Backers say that mix is key to easing pressure in overheated housing markets without waiting on massive developments to come online.<\/p>\n<p>And make no mistake, this is a true bipartisan bill (if the 390-9 vote didn&rsquo;t already spell it out for you).<\/p>\n<p>Two of the most vocal leaders pushing this bill were both on the House Financial Services Committee. That includes Arkansas GOP Rep. French Hill, and ultra-progressive California Rep. Maxine Waters.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, it appears Maxine Waters &mdash; a noted, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/unhinged-maxine-waters-latest-preposterous-allegation-trump-killer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">outspoken critic<\/a> of Trump &mdash; played a pivotal role in pushing something that&rsquo;s long been a rallying cry for Trump&rsquo;s campaign. His promise to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/numbers-dont-lie-trump-sets-biden-straight-admin-best-economy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rebuild the economy<\/a> after the devastating inflation of the Biden years is a key reason Trump was elected in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>And <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/cnn-forced-admit-trumps-efforts-already-huge-impact-housing-affordability\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">housing affordability<\/a> is a major part of that.
