But when the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/wapo-reporter-blamed-libs-tiktok-random-threats-defends-alleged-ceo-murderer-mangione-morally-good-man\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">flighty psychopath, Luigi Mangione-loving<\/a>&nbsp;Taylor Lorenz manages to get the best of you, it&rsquo;s probably time to reconsider your priorities.<\/p>\n<p>First, reality. From <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/energy\/oracle-says-outage-data-center-causes-issues-faced-by-us-tiktok-users-2026-01-28\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reuters<\/a> on Jan. 28:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>&ldquo;Over the weekend, an Oracle data center experienced a temporary weather-related power outage which impacted TikTok,&rdquo; Oracle spokesperson Michael Egbert said in an .<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>A powerful winter storm struck much of the U.S. over the weekend.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&ldquo;The challenges U.S. TikTok users may be experiencing are the result of technical issues that followed the power outage, which Oracle and TikTok are working to quickly resolve,&rdquo; Egbert said.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The joint venture that took over from Chinese parent company ByteDance said that &ldquo;it would be inaccurate to report that this [issues faced by U.S. users] is anything but the technical issues we&rsquo;ve transparently confirmed,&rdquo; and Newsom&rsquo;s office wasn&rsquo;t forthcoming with these &ldquo;independently confirmed instances&rdquo; where Trump-critical content was being suppressed.<\/p>\n<p>But, again, why let facts get in your way?<\/p>\n<p>Another fact is, Newsom&rsquo;s own record makes him suspect as a champion of free speech online.<\/p>\n<p>And that&rsquo;s where Taylor Lorenz comes in.<\/p>\n<p>Lorenz is a former Washington Post tech reporter who is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/woke-wapo-reporter-taylor-lorenz-obliterated-libs-tiktok-founder-blaming-violent-threats\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">usually seen beclowning herself<\/a> but does a good blind squirrel impersonation every once in a while and finds a nut. While not the worst bill in the world, it&rsquo;s still problematic if you&rsquo;re talking about <a href=\"https:\/\/reason.org\/commentary\/examining-californias-digital-age-assurance-act\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">online censorship<\/a> and what private companies can and cannot do.<\/p>\n<p>For that matter, Newsom was governor when the worst of and Twitter&rsquo;s censorship was occurring &mdash; companies that were based in his state at the time. (After purchasing a majority ownership in Twitter, mega-billionaire Elon Musk&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/dallasexpress.com\/business-markets\/musk-officially-moves-x-headquarters-to-bastrop-texas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">moved the company<\/a> to Texas with the new name of &ldquo;X.&rdquo;)<\/p>\n<p>Newsom did nothing about the disgrace of censorship during the COVID era.<\/p>\n<p>But suddenly, a few morons can&rsquo;t find &ldquo;Epstein&rdquo; searches on TikTok and Newsom is announcing an investigation?<\/p>\n<p>When he couldn&rsquo;t even care about the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/unbelievable-newsom-finds-way-blame-bungled-fire-recovery-trumps-deportations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">charred Pacific Palisades<\/a> and spent the heaviest day of the Los Angeles ICE riots <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/report-la-burned-newsom-attended-luxury-wine-tasting-event\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">at a wine tasting<\/a>? Give me a break.<\/p>\n<p>And this is the guy the left seriously thinks is going to take the White House in 2028.
