Bill Clinton is scheduled for February 27 and Hillary Clinton for February 26, with a noon deadline to agree to transcribed and taped depositions without time limits; failure to comply would have led to contempt proceedings. Committee Chairman James Comer said the Clintons \u201ccaved\u201d and will appear for depositions after delaying for six months. This marks a reversal from january,when the couple argued the inquiry was invalid and politically motivated in a joint letter to Comer that framed the probe as partisan politics and referenced Trump-era actions and the January 6 riot.The subpoena was issued in August, and their January refusal risked criminal action by the DOJ; Navarro and Bannon have already been sentenced for contempt in related refusals, and Politico noted Democrats were likely to vote to hold the Clintons in contempt if they did not comply. Dodged Subpoenas\">couple dodged subpoenas<\/a> and faced a looming contempt vote.<\/p>\n<p>House Oversight Committee chairman James Comer (R., Ky.) confirmed that Bill Clinton is scheduled for a deposition on Feb. 27, with his wife scheduled for the day before. House Republicans gave the couple a noon deadline to agree to transcribed and taped depositions with no time limits. Secures Dates For Bill and ...&#039;s Epstein Testimonies After ...\">defying duly issued subpoenas<\/a> for six months, the House Oversight Committee moved swiftly to initiate contempt of Congress proceedings in response to their non-compliance.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Clintons&rsquo; decision to participate in the probe is a dramatic shift from last month, when they <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/bill-and-hillary-clinton-refuse-to-testify-in-epstein-probe-as-house-gop-moves-toward-contempt-for-the-former-president\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">argued<\/a> that the investigation was invalid and politically motivated. In a Jan. 13 joint <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2026\/01\/13\/us\/politics\/bill-hillary-clinton-testimony-epstein-inquiry-contempt.html?partner=slack&amp;smid=sl-share\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter<\/a> to Comer provided to the <em>New York Times<\/em>, the Clintons said, &#8220;There is no plausible explanation for what you are doing other than partisan politics.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The letter invoked President Donald Trump&rsquo;s crackdown on illegal immigration and the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riots. &#8220;This past year has seen our Government engage in unprecedented acts, including against our own citizens. People have been seized from their homes, their workplaces, and the streets of their communities. &hellip; The people who laid siege to the U.S. Capitol have been pardoned and called heroes,&#8221; the Clintons wrote.<\/p>\n<p>The House subpoenaed the Clintons in August, and the couple repeatedly delayed the investigation until January, when they said they would not participate, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/clintons-cave-to-house-epstein-probe-after-facing-contempt-vote-2\/\" title=\"... Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon were each sentenced to four months in prison under the Biden administration when the House voted to hold them in contempt after they refused to testify.
