The office said it would be deactivating its X account and that information will now be distributed through Instagram and LinkedIn.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The investigation <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/technology\/why-are-french-prosecutors-investigating-elon-musks-x-2026-02-03\/\">first focused<\/a> on algorithmic manipulation and data handling, and has since expanded to include allegations related to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/congress-launches-bipartisan-effort-against-explicit-ai-deepfakes-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Congress launches bi...isan effort against explicit AI deepfakes - Washington Examiner\">sexually explicit deep fakes<\/a>, Holocaust denial content, and manipulation of automated systems.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The company&rsquo;s <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/GlobalAffairs\/status\/1947213316331282504?s=20\">Global Government Account<\/a> previously called the investigation &ldquo;politically motivated&rdquo; and denied all allegations of misconduct.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Officials have <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/technology\/why-are-french-prosecutors-investigating-elon-musks-x-2026-02-03\/\">reportedly summoned Musk<\/a> and former X CEO Linda Yaccarino for &ldquo;voluntary interviews&rdquo; on April 20 in Paris, and added that employees of the company may also be interviewed as witnesses later that week.&nbsp;Yaccarino was CEO from May 2023 to July 2025.<\/p>\n<p>French law makes Holocaust denial a crime punishable by fines and imprisonment, and it is alleged that content appearing on X&nbsp;attributed to Grok has included such material.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The raid on X offices occurred just one day after Musk announced that <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/technology\/4443577\/elon-musk-spacex-xai-merger\/\">SpaceX will merge with xAI<\/a>.
