Under the agreement Trump saeid the U.S.will cut tariffs on Indian goods from 25% to 18% adn that India will move to eliminate tariffs and non-tariff barriers on U.S. products, while committing to buy more U.S. energy, technology, agriculture, coal and othre goods \u2014 a figure Trump described as over $500 billion and potentially including purchases from Venezuela. The move represents a de-escalation after the U.S. had imposed tariffs over India\u2019s Russian oil imports, which Washington says help fund Russia\u2019s war in Ukraine; the U.S. and its allies have also used measures like price caps to limit Russian oil revenues. The president added that India will also &ldquo;move forward to reduce their Tariffs and Non Tariff Barriers against the United States, to ZERO&rdquo; as well as purchase &ldquo;over $500 BILLION DOLLARS of U.S. Energy, Technology, Agricultural, Coal, and many other products.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Our amazing relationship with India will be even stronger going forward,&rdquo; he said. <\/p>\n<p>India&rsquo;s purchases of Russian oil have undermined the Trump administration&rsquo;s efforts to end the war in Ukraine, as the administration has attempted to decrease oil export revenues to Russian President Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. and its allies have implemented various measures to reduce Russia&rsquo;s oil revenues, which fund its war in Ukraine, including price caps on Russian oil bought by Western countries.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/energy-and-environment\/4442901\/epa-guidance-farmers-right-to-repair\/\"><strong>EPA ISSUES GUIDANCE BACKING FARMERS&rsquo; &lsquo;RIGHT-TO-REPAIR&rsquo; EQUIPMENT<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Modi wrote <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/narendramodi\/status\/2018377090840830101?s=20\">on X Monday<\/a>, &ldquo;Delighted that Made in India products will now have a reduced tariff of 18%.
