Screenshots circulating on X showed the text reading \u201cAlex Pretti is the limit,\u201d urging recipients to \u201cStand with us! Donate $50 for 200% MATCH\u201d and directing users to a donation landing page on ActBlue; by the time reporters checked the PAC\u2019s site and the ActBlue page had been taken down or disabled. John Hagner and other users publicly criticized the solicitation, and ActBlue replied that it is a payment platform that does not write or approve fundraising messages but said it was \u201cexploring ways to address exploitative practices.\u201d The PAC\u2019s website and contact form were later scrubbed, and outreach from reporters went unanswered. Public records show Democratic Youth Wave spent about $196,714 on Harris-related self-reliant expenditures in 2024; FEC filings list modest receipts in 2025\u201326 but larger disbursements and over $1 million cash on hand as of Sept. 30, 2025. The PAC lists Nantambu Foley as treasurer, a figure with prior political staffing and podcast ties. Donate $50 for 200% MATCH.&rdquo; The message appeared to have linked to a donation landing page for Democratic Youth Wave PAC hosted by leading Democratic fundraising platform <a href=\"http:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ActBlue\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ActBlue<\/a>. Both the page and the PAC&rsquo;s website, however, were taken down at the time of publication.<\/p>\n<p>By Sunday morning, hours after screenshots of the text went viral on social media, the link in the text led to a <a href=\"https:\/\/secure.actblue.com\/donate\/democratic_youth_wave\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">page<\/a> which stated, &ldquo;This fundraiser is not currently accepting any donations.&rdquo; It also included a link to the PAC&rsquo;s website, which while live at the time, was not allowing contributions through its &ldquo;donate&rdquo; button. Democratic Youth Wave&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.democraticyouthwave.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">site<\/a> was later taken down and its URL, at the time of publication, led to a Wix.com error page stating, &ldquo;Looks like this domain isn&rsquo;t connected to a website yet.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>In addition to explicitly soliciting $50 donations, the text message also urged Democratic Minnesota Gov. The contact <a href=\"https:\/\/www.democraticyouthwave.org\/contact\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">form<\/a> on the PAC&rsquo;s website, however, appeared to have been broken at the time.<\/p>\n<p>ActBlue&rsquo;s X account <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/actblue\/status\/2015204260917420330?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">responded<\/a> to Hagner&rsquo;s post about two hours after he had made it, saying it is &ldquo;a tech platform&rdquo; which does &ldquo;not write or approve what campaigns and causes are sending.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;But we hear you, please know our team is listening and is exploring ways to address exploitative practices,&rdquo; ActBlue&rsquo;s account wrote in its reply.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Hi <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JHagner?\">@JHagner<\/a>. But we hear you, please know our team is listening and is exploring ways to address exploitative practices.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; ActBlue (@actblue) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/actblue\/status\/2015204260917420330?\">January 24, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&ldquo;The damage done by users of your platform to reputable and important fundraising is immense and ongoing,&rdquo; Hagner <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JHagner\/status\/2015271830270177637?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">replied<\/a>. &ldquo;The time for exploring options was over a long time ago, friends.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Another X user <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/maphu\/status\/2015192523556188504?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">replied<\/a> to Hagner&rsquo;s original post with a screenshot appearing to show that Democratic Youth Wave misspelled Walz&rsquo;s name as &ldquo;Waltz&rdquo; in an August 2024 text.<\/p>\n<p>Open Secrets <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opensecrets.org\/political-action-committees-pacs\/democratic-youth-wave\/C00882233\/independent-expenditures\/2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">lists<\/a> a total of $196,714 for Democratic Youth Wave&rsquo;s &ldquo;independent expenditures, communication costs and coordinated expenses&rdquo; for the 2024 cycle, all for Harris&rsquo;s failed presidential bid. The PAC does not list expenditures for any other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/texas-democrat-rep-vicente-gonzalez-exposed-funneling-campaign-cash-to-his-own-llc\/\" title=\"Texas Democrat Rep. Vicente Gonzalez Exposed Funneling Campaign Cash to His Own LLC\">election cycle dating back<\/a> to 2000, according to Open Secrets.<\/p>\n<p>The Federal Election Commission <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/data\/committee\/C00882233\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">lists<\/a> $19,770.00 in total federal receipts for Democratic Youth Wave in the two-year period of 2025 to 2026. It also lists $292,137.48 in total federal disbursements for the same two-year time period. The PAC had $1,077,777.79 in cash on hand at the end of the reporting period concluding on Sept. 30, 2025, according to the FEC.<\/p>\n<p>The PAC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/data\/committee\/C00882233\/?tab=about-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">lists<\/a> its mailing address in Alpharetta, Georgia, and names its treasurer as Nantambu Foley, according to the FEC.<\/p>\n<p>A man with this name served as an intern, and then a fellow for Democratic Illinois Rep. Jonathan Jackson between 2023 and 2024, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legistorm.com\/person\/bio\/501985\/Nantambu_Foley.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a> to LegiStorm. This same individual also appears to have hosted a political podcast called &ldquo;What&rsquo;s the Context?&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>While episodes of the podcasts no longer appear available online, its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whatsthecontext.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a> was still live at the time of publication, and listed Foley as Jackson&rsquo;s former &ldquo;body man.&rdquo; Foley&rsquo;s LinkedIn <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/404\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">profile<\/a>, linked on LegiStorm, appears to have been recently taken down.<\/p>\n<p>The DCNF reached out to Foley using an  address on his podcast&rsquo;s website in order to confirm he was the same individual listed as Democratic Youth Wave&rsquo;s treasurer, but did not immediately receive a response.<\/p>\n<p>The PAC&rsquo;s now-scrubbed website stated it &ldquo;empowers young Democrats by boosting youth voter turnout to create a strong voter&rsquo;s blue wave nationwide,&rdquo; and &ldquo;is committed to increasing youth voter turnout and creating a strong blue wave across all 50 states.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Democratic Youth Wave also has a YouTube <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@demyouthwave\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">channel<\/a> &mdash; seemingly with only four subscribers &mdash; which was still active at the time of publication. The channel lists four videos which, at the time, had had 33, 13, 72,000, and 18,000 views, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The channel&rsquo;s most-viewed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=FXbGeSnewto\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">video<\/a> by far was a 48-second ad titled, &ldquo;Did 71 million people really believed[[<em>sic<\/em>]the lies,&rdquo; in which a voice, appearing to belong to a young male, narrates over a series of stock images and videos. A donation QR code appeared on screen for about 10 seconds at the end.
