Local authorities argued that the operation disrupted education, healthcare, and religious observances in the city and sapped local law enforcement resources.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/senate\/4441455\/republicans-name-sanctuary-city-demands-fight-ice-conduct\/\">GOP ZEROES IN ON &lsquo;SANCTUARY CITY&rsquo; DEMANDS IN FIGHT OVER ICE CONDUCT<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ultimately, the court decided that any perceived harms caused by Operation Metro Surge were not sufficient to outweigh the obligation of respecting federal enforcement of the law.
