The game effectively ended with an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/patriots-and-seahawks-to-sport-usa-250-patches-at-super-bowl\/\" title=\"... and ... to sport ......... patches at Super Bowl\">infamous play call<\/a> by then-Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, who opted to have then-quarterback Russell Wilson throw the ball at the one-yard line instead of handing it off to running back Marshawn Lynch. The Patriots were led by head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady at the time.
