Speaker Mike Johnson plans to bring the measure to the floor after the House returns from recess, and the Rules Committee is expected to approve it Monday given Republican control.<\/p>\n<p>The Oversight Committee voted to refer contempt charges, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/she-is-looking-backwards-elise-stefanik-says-republicans-united-and-moving-past-liz-cheney\/\" title=\"\u2018She Is Looking Backwards\u2019: Elise Stefanik Says ... Oversight Chairman James Comer said subpoenas are legally binding and the Clintons were required to appear for depositions. They refused&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Nine Democrats on the oversight panel voted with every single Republican to hold the former president in contempt. Meanwhile, only three Democrats crossed the aisle to hold the former secretary of state in contempt.<\/p>\n<p>The Clintons were set to appear before the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/media-bites-on-trump-chrissy-teigen-twitter-files-spat-ignores-bigger-issue-matt-taibbi-says\/\" title=\"Media Bites On Trump-Chrissy Teigen Twitter Files Spat, Ignores Bigger Issue, Matt Taibbi Says\">oversight committee earlier<\/a> this month, but they no-showed for their depositions.
