U.S. officials,including Vice President JD Vance,have warned the law could lead Britain down a dark path of censorship. Doescher argued the Act\u2019s broad definitions of \u201charmful content\u201d give the state sweeping control\u2014unlike U.S. free\u2011speech protections\u2014and reflected a longer Labor government effort under Keir starmer to <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >eliminate anonymous online options<\/a>. She downplayed comparisons to Iran but warned a VPN ban would put the U.K. alongside more repressive states such as North Korea.
