Video footage appears to show an agent taking Pretti\u2019s weapon before another agent fired. Pretti was a licensed gun owner with a carry permit, a fact administration officials highlighted; some, including FBI Director Kash Patel (as reported), suggested the weapon\u2019s presence could indicate malicious intent. Second Amendment advocates and the NRA pushed back, arguing carrying a spare magazine is common and not evidence of wrongdoing. You can&rsquo;t do that.
