And if that means withholding votes for funding bills, that&lsquo;s what that means.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>This comment referred to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer&rsquo;s (D-NY) proposal to <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/senate\/4432861\/schiff-ice-border-patrol-funding-pretti-shooting\/\">scrap the DHS appropriations bill<\/a> and write a new one. The bill is one of six needed to fully fund the government. Schumer&rsquo;s plan would prevent a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/should-never-have-been-in-this-position-biden-on-signing-stopgap-funding-bill\/\" title=\"...Biden regrets signing stopgap ... bill, says it was a mistake....\">complete government shutdown<\/a>, which Escobar agreed with, saying, &ldquo;I <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >hate government shutdowns&#038;rdquo<\/a>; because she has &ldquo;a lot of federal employees in [her] district.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Still, even a complete shutdown would not stop DHS or Immigration and Customs Enforcement from operating.
