Sala criticized ICE over its role in two recent fatal shootings in Minnesota, calling the agency a \u201cmilitia that kills.\u201d ICE confirmed that its Homeland Security Investigations unit would support the U.S. State department\u2019s Diplomatic Security Service and the host nation to vet and mitigate transnational criminal risks, while stressing its officers do not carry out immigration enforcement abroad and that all operations remain under Italian authority. Italy\u2019s Interior Ministry said the U.S. has not finalized the makeup of its detail and it does not appear ICE will escort the American delegation, which is expected to include Vice President J.D. Vance, second lady Usha Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. There&rsquo;s no doubt about it. Can&rsquo;t we just say no to Trump for once?&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The ICE-linked security team will support diplomatic security details in Milan without carrying out any immigration enforcement operations, according to the <em>Associated Press<\/em>. ICE confirmed its participation in the security detail.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;At the Olympics, ICE&rsquo;s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) is supporting the US Department of State&rsquo;s Diplomatic Security Service and host nation to vet and mitigate risks from transnational criminal organizations,&rdquo; the immigration agency said in a statement, adding that &ldquo;all security operations remain under Italian authority.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>ICE also stressed its officers do &ldquo;not <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >conduct immigration enforcement operations<\/a> in foreign countries.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>It&rsquo;s unclear how many ICE officers will be deployed to the Winter Olympics, scheduled from Feb. 6 to Feb. 22.<\/p>\n<p>Vice President <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/jd-vance\/\">JD Vance<\/a>, second lady <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/usha-vance\/\">Usha Vance<\/a>, and Secretary of State <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/marco-rubio\/\">Marco Rubio<\/a> are set to attend the sporting event&rsquo;s opening ceremony on Feb. 6.
