Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY). She argued that the ruling was an attempt to disenfranchise voters who had chosen a Republican despite the Democrats having the advantage.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Despite having a Democratic registration advantage, voters chose a Republican, and that choice should stand,&rdquo; she said in an <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/wabcradio.com\/episode\/rep-nicole-malliotakis-redistricting-effort-seeks-to-disenfranchise-staten-island-and-brooklyn-4-min\/\">interview<\/a> with WABC Radio.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans appealed the ruling to both an appeals court and the highest court in New York, its Court of Appeals.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/state\/4434813\/trump-endorsement-indiana-state-senator-redistricting\/\">TRUMP BACKS CHALLENGER TO INDIANA STATE SENATOR WHO VOTED AGAINST REDISTRICTING<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The case to redraw Malliotakis&rsquo;s district was filed by an election firm aligned with the Democratic Party.
