The attacker reportedly knocked, said &#8220;We have your dog,&#8221; then fired through the front door; no suspect has been identified and a search remains active. Lafayette police are leading the investigation with assistance from the Indiana State Police, the Tippecanoe County sheriff&#8217;s and prosecutor&#8217;s offices, the West Lafayette Police Department, and the FBI. Kimberly Meyer issued a statement thanking investigators, medical personnel, and the community and expressing confidence in the police response. We would also like to thank the medical personnel who provided care and assistance to us following the incident,&rdquo; Kimberly Meyer said in a statement on behalf of her and her husband.<\/p>\n<p>As the shooter remains at large, the Lafayette Police Department <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo?fbid=812528681802459&amp;set=a.107624148959586\">said<\/a> the investigation is active and involves officials from their department, the Indiana State Police, the Tippecanoe County Sheriff&rsquo;s and Prosecutor&rsquo;s Office, the West Lafayette Police Department, and the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/fbi\/\">FBI<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The attacker reportedly knocked on the door of the Meyers&rsquo; home and said, &ldquo;We have your dog,&rdquo; before shooting through the front door, according to a <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/video\/6387991834112\">recording<\/a> of the dispatch audio. There are currently no identified suspects.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Justice of Indiana, Loretta Rush, issued a statement regarding the shooting and directed her sentiments to judges across the state, asking them to &ldquo;please remain vigilant&rdquo; in their security.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/4375446\/virginia-man-held-without-bond-death-threat-richard-grenell\/\">VIRGINIA MAN ORDERED HELD WITHOUT BOND OVER DEATH THREAT AGAINST RICHARD GRENELL<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I worry about the safety of all our judges. As you work to peacefully resolve more than 1 million cases a year, you must not only feel safe, you must also be safe. Any violence against a judge or a judge&rsquo;s family is completely unacceptable. As public servants, you are dedicated to the rule of law,&rdquo; Rush said.<\/p>\n<p>The judge shooting comes as concerns about <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/political-violence\/\">political violence<\/a> and violence toward law enforcement officials increase across the United States.
