Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said on NBC&#8217;s Meet the press that he doubts the U.S. will resort to military action to take greenland, expressing hope debates over <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >presidential war powers<\/a> will be thorough and saying an invasion is unlikely as he hasn&#8217;t heard Republicans offer full backing for such a move. He warned against treating every constitutional dispute over presidential versus congressional authority as an impeachable offense, noting courts could resolve some questions. The comments came amid increased tensions after President Trump repeatedly floated buying Greenland and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-imposes-25-tariff-on-any-country-doing-business-with-iran\/\" title=\"... imposes 25% tariff on any country doing business with Iran\">suggested military options<\/a>,and as Congress moves to constrain unilateral military actions. Trump has suggested a purchase of the Arctic island as well as military action to obtain it. Many of the comments from the president and his insistence on obtaining Greenland have occurred after U.S. Delta Forces captured and extracted former Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/foreign-policy\/3279344\/why-trump-is-likely-so-interested-in-greenland\/\">WHY TRUMP IS SO INTERESTED IN GREENLAND<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Paul&rsquo;s remarks about Greenland focused on recent congressional efforts to advance a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/43-republican-democrat-house-members-demand-biden-seek-approval-before-sending-u-s-troops-to-ukraine\/\" title=\"43 Republican, Democrat House Members Demand Biden Seek Approval Before ...ding U.S. Troops To Ukraine\">war powers resolution<\/a> that would limit Trump&rsquo;s ability to order military action, such as the operation in Venezuela.<\/p>\n<p>Paul was a co-sponsor of the legislation, which initially included four other Republican senators: Sen.
