Justice delayed is justice denied.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Homeland Security <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbclosangeles.com\/investigations\/lapd-pressed-to-fully-investigate-shooting-by-off-duty-ice-agent\/3831164\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said<\/a> the off-duty ICE agent heard gunfire near his Northridge apartment and went outside to investigate. Officials <a href=\"https:\/\/abc7.com\/post\/keith-porter-death-advocates-want-legal-action-man-shot-killed-off-duty-ice-agent-northridge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">added<\/a> that the agent encountered Porter armed with a rifle, ordered him to drop the weapon, and returned fire after Porter allegedly discharged his weapon multiple times, leaving the agent uninjured.<\/p>\n<p>At a news conference, authorities remarked that the agent believed the gunfire was moving closer to his residence and <a href=\"https:\/\/dallasweekly.com\/2026\/01\/family-of-slain-man-demands-arrest-of-ice-agent-in-new-years-eve-shooting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said<\/a> Porter aimed the rifle at him during the confrontation.
