That&rsquo;s less money going to the bank, and more for everything else,&rdquo; Egan said.<\/p>\n<p>The CNN reporter pointed out that one reason interest payments are coming down is that Trump recently announced plans to have the federal government run Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac buy up <a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/mortgage-rates-hit-3-year-low-after-trumps-bond-buying-announcement-170734277.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$200 billion<\/a> in home mortgages.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;They buy loans from lenders, bundle them into mortgage-backed securities, or MBS, and sell them to investors &mdash;
