Tim Burchett (R\u2011TN) accused the press of applying a double standard after former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton failed to appear for a scheduled House Oversight Committee deposition tied to the Epstein inquiry. Burchett compared the Clintons&#8217; no\u2011show to advisers to former President Trump who also avoided congressional testimony, saying the media &#8220;put thier cameras down&#8221; when he raised that point and lamenting that &#8220;the cards are very much stacked against us and justice.&#8221; He also called a protester at the event a &#8220;paid agitator&#8221; and &#8220;pathetic.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The piece notes the committee may vote next week on contempt for bill Clinton and includes the Clintons&#8217; letter to Oversight Chair James Comer arguing the committee has interviewed only two people and that legal analyses say the subpoenas are invalid. Tim Burchett (R-TN) accused the press of pointing &ldquo;their cameras down immediately&rdquo; after he suggested <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/4417165\/gop-lawmakers-blast-bill-clinton-decision-miss-deposition\/\">Bill and Hillary Clinton<\/a> are benefiting from a double standard.<\/p>\n<p>Burchett spoke at a press conference on Wednesday, following what was supposed to be the deposition of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who did not appear before the House Oversight Committee. These two were found in contempt of Congress. The Clintons could also now face a similar outcome, as the House is expected to <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/4416649\/house-oversight-committee-move-bill-clinton-contempt-of-congress\/\">vote on the matter next week<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Of course they no-show you know my buddies Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro didn&rsquo;t show up and they got sent to prison as a double standard. I&rsquo;ll tell you the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >bigger double standard<\/a> is when I mention that in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/what-to-watch-for-at-the-dnc-on-tuesday-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"What to watch for at the DNC on Tuesday - Washington Examiner\">press conference &#038;mdash<\/a>; I wish we would&rsquo;ve had it on film &mdash; but the press just put their cameras down immediately when I said that,&rdquo; Burchett said in a video posted to X.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;These cards are very much stacked against us and justice and the Clintons of course they thumb their nose at justice because they&rsquo;re allowed to. They&rsquo;ve been allowed to since they were in Arkansas and they&rsquo;re gonna continue to do it. It&rsquo;s really a shame that that&rsquo;s the pinnacle of success for the Democrat party really,&rdquo; Burchett said.<\/p>\n<p>A protester was also present during Wednesday&rsquo;s press conference. Burchett referred to the protester as a &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/burchett-accuses-media-of-double-standard-for-missed-subpoenas-2\/\" title=\"... of ......... for missed ...\">paid agitator&#038;rdquo<\/a>; and &ldquo;pathetic.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>In a letter to House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY), the Clintons criticized the committee for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/burchett-accuses-media-of-double-standard-for-missed-subpoenas\/\" title=\"... of ......... for missed ...\">dismissing previous subpoenas issued<\/a> to seven other witnesses on the matter of Epstein.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/4417635\/hillary-clinton-no-show-epstein-deposition-letter-comer\/\"><strong>HILLARY CLINTON NO-SHOWS EPSTEIN DEPOSITION AFTER LETTER EXCORIATING COMER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;In fact, since you started your investigation last year, you have interviewed a total of two people.
