Elissa Slotkin (D\u2011MI), a former CIA officer, says she is the subject of a federal investigation over her participation in a 2025 joint video in which six Democratic lawmakers who are military or intelligence veterans told service members and intelligence professionals they &#8220;can refuse illegal orders.&#8221; Slotkin told The New York Times she was notified about the probe by the U.S. attorney&#8217;s office in the district of Columbia, led by Jeanine Pirro, but details about what crime-if any-is alleged have not been made public.The video, released in November, featured Sen. Mark Kelly and Representatives Chris Deluzio, chrissy Houlahan, Jason Crow, and Maggie Goodlander; it warned of domestic threats to the constitution but did not identify specific unlawful orders. The video warned that &ldquo;this administration is pitting&rdquo; military members and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/slotkin-reveals-shes-under-federal-investigation-for-illegal-orders-video\/\" title=\"Slotkin reveals she&#039;s under ... for &#039;illegal ...&#039; ...\">intelligence community professionals &#038;ldquo<\/a>;against &ldquo;American citizens.&rdquo; It also warned that &ldquo;threats to our Constitution aren&rsquo;t just coming from abroad, but from right here at home.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), Sen, Elissa Slotkin (D-MI), Rep. Chris Deluzio (D-PA), Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA), Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO), and Rep. Maggie Goodlander (D-NH) appeared in the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Fk9Gh3qwW4I&amp;lc=UgyBwqBWT145Umn3PYN4AaABAg\">video<\/a> and issued a message saying, &ldquo;You can refuse illegal orders.&rdquo; None, however, elaborated on what orders were considered unlawful.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Facts matter little, but the threat matters quite a bit,&rdquo; Slotkin said in her interview with <em>The New York Times<\/em>. &ldquo;The threat of legal action; the threat to your family; the threat to your staff; the threat to you.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Slotkin is the second senator to face an investigation regarding the video. Sen. Mark Kelly was <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/defense\/4406576\/hegseth-demotes-mark-kelly-issues-censure-seditious-six-video\/\">accused of violating two articles<\/a> of the Uniform Code of Military Justice by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, who issued a letter of censure and a request to demote Kelly earlier this month.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Six weeks ago, Senator Mark Kelly &mdash; and five other members of Congress &mdash; released a reckless and seditious video that was clearly intended to undermine good order and military discipline,&rdquo; Hegseth <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SecWar\/status\/2008189258528665898\">said<\/a> in a post on X. &ldquo;As a retired Navy Captain who is still receiving a military pension, Captain Kelly knows he is still accountable to military justice.
