The summer months came up with the lowest number of total wagers across the board compared to the winter months. October 2025 had the highest amount of total mobile wagers by New York bettors since mobile betting began in January 2022.<\/p>\n<p>There are nine licensed mobile operators in New York. The state has taken several regulatory measures to limit the negative effects of sports betting on New Yorkers, including allowing sports leagues to <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/GeoffZochodne\/status\/1988009573647626665?s=20\">request restrictions<\/a> on the betting catalog, a regulation that <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbettingdime.com\/news\/betting\/new-york-open-to-sports-betting-changes-upon-nba-request\/\">made headlines<\/a> following the FBI&rsquo;s sports betting investigation, which <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/3861305\/nba-stars-coach-among-31-arrested-in-fbi-sports-betting-crackdown\/\">resulted in 31 arrests<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Gov. <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/kathy-hochul\/\">Kathy Hochul<\/a> (D-NY) is expected to discuss her plan to prevent people under 21 years old from participating in sports gambling in her State of the State address on Tuesday.
