Jones allegedly violated his release conditions eight times after an August arrest for a restaurant disturbance involving a Taser, than rode the transit system, entered a gate without paying, struck and grabbed the victim, stole an iPad from her purse, and fled on a bicycle; the woman suffered scratches and bruises. Prosecutors had asked a judge to detain Jones after the August arrest because of a prior felony and a gun case, but the request was denied; Jones was later arrested dec. 28 for allegedly breaking into a home and is now detained pretrial. Cook County Chief Judge Charles Beach II ordered a review of the GPS monitoring program in December, saying it needed more oversight to hold arrestees accountable, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/cwbchicago.com\/2025\/12\/on-day-2-new-chief-judge-orders-immediate-review-of-trouble-electronic-monitoring-programs.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CWB Chicago<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Caller News Foundation could not identify an attorney for Jones.<\/p>\n<p>Jones allegedly roamed the Chicago train system for hours while he was supposed to be at home and entered through a gate without paying fare, CWB Chicago reported. His alleged victim said he struck her in the buttocks, grabbed her, and fought for her purse, causing her to fall to the ground multiple times. He then allegedly took an iPad from the purse and rode away on a bike.<\/p>\n<p>The pregnant victim suffered scratching and bruising injuries from the incident, the outlet reported. Jones was later arrested Dec. 28 while allegedly breaking into a home in a nearby Chicago neighborhood.
