Greene posted on X calling the claim &#8220;a dangerous false accusation,&#8221; saying she only suggested the restaurant and gave its phone number, had &#8220;zero knowlege&#8221; of the president&#8217;s reservation, and will consult an attorney. Axios, citing two sources on Trump&#8217;s team, reported that White House aides privately suspected Greene after learning she had contacted White House staff the day of the dinner and that Trump called her before leaving the White House; Axios saeid the episode damaged Trump&#8217;s relationship with Greene. critics questioned why Secret Service did not sweep the restaurant or use metal detectors; Code Pink organizers said protesters got in by making reservations. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican from Georgia, denies reports emerging that she let far-left protesters know that President Donald Trump was dining at a D.C. restaurant, giving them the chance to get close to him.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Anyone saying this is true is absolutely lying!!!&rdquo; Greene posted in a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RepMTG\/status\/2009625658821931217\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lengthy defense<\/a> on X in which she said the claim is &ldquo;a dangerous false accusation against me that is 100% false.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The facts are straightforward. On Sept. 9, Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, War Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio entered Joe&rsquo;s Seafood, Prime Steak &amp; Stone Crab, which is located near the White House, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2025\/09\/10\/trump-protesters-restaurant\/86074155007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">USA Today<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As they entered, they were accosted by protesters from the group Code Pink shouting &ldquo;Free Palestine.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>At the time, there were two threads of concern, encapsulated by Rep. Where was Secret Service and was there someone in Secret Service that leaked his location? This needs to be looked into,&rdquo; she continued.<\/p>\n<p>A report from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2026\/01\/09\/trump-mtg-restaurant-protest-secret-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Axios<\/a> based on &ldquo;two sources on Trump&rsquo;s team&rdquo; said that the White House told the Secret Service that Greene may have been the leaker.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Trump aides view the Joe&rsquo;s Seafood debacle as a point of no return in his relationship with Greene,&rdquo; Axios posted, writing that despite Trump&rsquo;s public demeanor during the incident &mdash; he gave the protesters a smile and let them rave at him a while, according to USA Today &mdash; he was embarrassed by the incident and concerned about his security.<\/p>\n<p>The sources Axios cited claimed that Greene called White House staff members the day of the dinner to confirm Trump would be at the restaurant.
