Mamdani stood by his wording despite the ongoing inquiry and said the death was &#8220;entirely preventable.&#8221; Republicans, including JD Vance, White House press officials, and former President Donald Trump, defended the officer and framed the event as self-defense and an attack on law and order. top: 0px; left: 0px; width: 100%; height: 100%; border: 0px;\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Mamdani&rsquo;s comments came after Homeland Security Secretary <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/kristi-noem\/\">Kristi Noem<\/a> held a press conference in <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/new-york-city\/\">New York City<\/a> about immigration enforcement on Thursday, a day after Good was shot and killed by ICE in Minneapolis.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Noem defended the ICE officer, saying he &ldquo;followed his training.&rdquo; Mamdani disagreed with Noem when asked by anchor Kaitlan Collins.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;If that is following his training, I think there are larger questions about the training that&rsquo;s being provided to ICE agents,&rdquo; Mamdani said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mamdani calling the shooting a &ldquo;murder&rdquo; is a step further than how others, including Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, have gone to describe the shooting.<\/p>\n<p>When pressed about his word choice before an investigation is completed, Mamdani stood firm, saying, &ldquo;That was the conclusion I came to in just watching that video.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I think that many Americans came to that same conclusion, no matter how many times this is mischaracterized by others, we will see right what is in front of us, which is that a 37-year-old woman was killed by an ICE agent,&rdquo;&nbsp;Mamdani said.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/4412378\/vance-defends-immigration-enforcement-ice-shooting\/\"><strong>VANCE TAKES THE LEAD IN DEFENDING IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT AFTER ICE SHOOTING<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Since the shooting, Republicans have been quick to defend the ICE officer. Vice President <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/jd-vance\/\">JD Vance<\/a> joined White House press secretary <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/karoline-leavitt\/\">Karoline Leavitt <\/a>for a press briefing on Thursday, where <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/4411803\/jd-vance-defends-ice-officer-shooting-minnesota-absolute-immunity\/\">he defended the officer<\/a> and shamed the media for accusing him of murder.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;This was an attack on law and order. This was an attack on the American people. The way that the media, by and large, has reported this story has been an absolute disgrace, and it puts our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/georgia-secretary-of-state-investigating-voter-registration-group-run-by-democrat-raphael-warnock\/\" title=\"Georgia Secretary Of State Investigating Voter Registration Group Run By Democrat Raphael Warnock\">law enforcement officers<\/a> at risk every single day,&rdquo; Vance said.<\/p>\n<p>President <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\">Donald Trump<\/a> commented on Truth Social after viewing the video of the shooting, saying it was a &ldquo;horrible thing to watch.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self defense,&rdquo; Trump said.<\/p>\n<p>Mamdani said that the shooting was &ldquo;entirely preventable.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It is yet, however, unsurprising to see from an agency that is both reckless and operates with a real sense of impunity across the country,&rdquo; he said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Similar to Minneapolis, New York City has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-red-wave-of-conservative-women-elected-to-congress\/\" title=\"The Red Wave of Conservative Women Elected to Congress\">sanctuary city policies<\/a>, which <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >limit local law enforcement<\/a> from cooperating with federal immigration authorities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/immigration\/4412600\/walz-readies-national-guard-staged-day-of-unity-woman-killed-by-ice\/\"><strong>WALZ READIES NATIONAL GUARD TO BE &lsquo;STAGED&rsquo;
