He shared charts showing federal employment had fallen by about 277,000 since January 2025 and highlighting private-sector job gains, and also posted a breakdown of job growth by native- and foreign-born workers. Under longstanding Office of Management and Budget rules, management officials are generally expected not to preview market-sensitive economic reports before publication; an economist at Bankrate said the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >early post broke protocol<\/a>. Rises for First ... in a Year\">closely watched employment report<\/a> that was published Friday morning, posting data from it on social media about 12 hours before the report <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/4412278\/economy-50000-jobs-december-facts-figures\/\">was released<\/a> to the public.<\/p>\n<p>The monthly jobs <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/news.release\/pdf\/empsit.pdf\">report<\/a> is one of the most closely watched sets of data that is released by the federal government and has the ability to move markets. Those actions drew criticism from Democrats at the time. <\/p>\n<p>Thursday night&rsquo;s posts, however, appear to be the first time that he divulged data before the official release time. <\/p>\n<p>Mark&nbsp;Hamrick, senior economic analyst at Bankrate, said that the Thursday night post broke protocol.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/president\/\">president<\/a>, nor anyone else in the federal government or anyone else who might have access to the data, should not be posting previews of market-sensitive economic reports,&rdquo; Hamrick told the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The Friday morning jobs report showed federal employment was 2.738 million in November 2025, adjusted for seasonal variations, down from 3.015 million in January of that year.
