It is expected to pass the House on Thursday, but could face significant hurdles in the Senate.<\/p>\n<p>The vote comes after the government subsidies <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/senate\/4408824\/obamacare-subsidies-deal-majority-republican-support-bernie-moreno\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">expired at the end of 2025<\/a>. Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH) has been one of the GOP senators involved in negotiations and <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >expressed cautious optimism<\/a> at the chances of an agreement moving forward in the Senate.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We&rsquo;re in the red zone,&rdquo; Moreno<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2026\/01\/08\/nx-s1-5662625\/house-vote-affordable-care-act-subsidies\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> told NPR<\/a> on Wednesday. &ldquo;But that does not mean a touchdown.
