Ted Cruz wrote to House Speaker Mike Johnson urging the House to consider articles of impeachment already filed against U.S. District Judges James Boasberg and Deborah Boardman. Cruz says both judges have abdicated constitutional duties and asked that resolutions introduced by Reps. Brandon Gill and Chip Roy be advanced.<\/p>\n<p>GOP complaints against Boasberg claim he <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >improperly issued nondisclosure orders<\/a> to telecommunications firms in the FBI&#8217;s Operation &#8220;Arctic Frost,&#8221; which allegedly led to surveillance of Republican senators. The complaint against Boardman alleges she drastically reduced the sentence for Nicholas Roske-the man who attempted to kill Justice Brett Kavanaugh-citing his gender identity and reducing a potential 30-year term to about eight years.<\/p>\n<p>cruz also held a Senate subcommittee hearing on the judges&#8217; conduct.Democrats, led by Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, pushed back, saying impeachment is not the remedy for disputed judicial decisions (quoting Chief Justice Roberts that appeals are the proper channel) and warning the effort looks like partisan pressure-particularly against Boasberg, who has ruled against Trump management positions and sentenced Jan. 6 rioters. Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX) filed for impeachment against Boasberg, alleging he improperly granted nondisclosure orders to the telecommunications companies that spied on GOP Senators, including Cruz, as part of Operation Arctic Frost.<\/p>\n<p>Along with sending the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SenTedCruz\/status\/2008961474861969784?s=20\">letter<\/a> to Johnson, Cruz held a hearing on Wednesday to discuss the conduct of Boasberg and Boardman, District Judge for the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. <\/p>\n<p>Cruz and Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/impeachment-articles-filed-against-failed-dhs-secretary-mayorkas\/\" title=\"... ... ... Against Failed DHS Secretary Mayorkas\">filed impeachment articles<\/a> against her, allege Boardman improperly lessened the prison <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/nicholas-roske-sentenced-over-eight-years-prison-attempted-murder-supreme-court-justice\">sentence<\/a> for Nicholas Roske, the man who attempted to kill Supreme Court Justice <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/brett-kavanaugh\/\">Brett Kavanaugh<\/a>. Cruz alleges in his letter to Johnson that Boardman lessened Roske&rsquo;s sentence by 22 years out of concern Roske over his gender identity.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Judge Boardman reduced a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cruz-demands-speaker-johnson-impeach-rogue-judges\/\" title=\"... Demands Speaker Johnson Impeach &#039;Rogue ...&#039;\">potential thirty-year sentence<\/a> to a mere eight years, citing as mitigating the defendant&rsquo;s self-declared status as a &lsquo;transgender woman&rsquo; and expressing concern that &lsquo;she&rsquo; would be housed in a male facility.&rdquo; Cruz wrote. <\/p>\n<p><strong><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/washington-secrets\/4362775\/trump-first-year-report-card-promise-keeper-or-nightmare-failure\/\">TRUMP FIRST YEAR REPORT CARD: A- PROMISE KEEPER OR &lsquo;NIGHTMARE&rsquo; FAILURE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In Cruz&rsquo;s hearing in the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/senate-judiciary-committee\/\">Senate Judiciary Committee<\/a>&lsquo;s subcommittee on Federal Courts, Oversight, Agency Action, and Federal Rights, ranking member Sheldon Whitehouse rebutted many of Cruz&rsquo;s points. Whitehouse <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/john-roberts-trump-judge-impeachment-chief-justice\/\">quoted<\/a> Chief Justice John Roberts, saying, &ldquo;Impeachment isn&rsquo;t a remedy for judges getting decisions wrong. Appeal is the remedy for that, as the Chief Justice has stated.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Whitehouse said it was &ldquo;telling&rdquo; that the hearing targeted Judge Boasberg, who sentenced January 6 rioters and has ruled against the Trump administration&rsquo;s use of the Alien Enemies Act for deportations. Gill first filed articles of impeachment against Boasberg in March over the latter ruling.
