DHS assistant secretary Tricia McLaughlin said the driver was part of a group blocking officers and called the act an attempted domestic terrorist attack; ICE officers were reported injured but expected to recover.McLaughlin also cited a sharp rise in assaults on ICE personnel-calling it a 1,300% increase-and pointed to a DHS report noting nearly 100 vehicle-ramming incidents against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/d-c-mayor-congress-must-open-a-probe-into-security-failures-at-u-s-capitol\/\" title=\"D.C.  McLaughlin stated that &ldquo;rioters began&nbsp;blocking&nbsp;&nbsp;ICE officers and one of these <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/woman-shot-dead-in-minneapolis-while-attempting-to-ram-ice-dhs\/\" title=\"... shot dead in ... while attempting to ram ICE: DHS\">violent rioters weaponized<\/a> her vehicle, attempting to run over our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them &mdash; an act of domestic terrorism.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1827160473\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>An ICE officer &ldquo;fearing for his life &hellip; fired defensive&nbsp;shots.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Video <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/maxnesterak\/status\/2008961959731859757\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">footage<\/a> of the incident posted on X appears to show officers instructing the woman to exit her vehicle. The woman accelerates and appears to nearly hit an agent who was positioned in front of her vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>The individual &ldquo;was hit and is deceased,&rdquo; according to McLaughlin. ICE officers were reportedly &ldquo;hurt&rdquo; but &ldquo;expected to make full recoveries.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>McLaughlin also said that there has been a 1,300 percent &ldquo;increase in assaults&rdquo; on ICE agents. The DHS <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dhs.gov\/news\/2025\/11\/18\/ice-and-cbp-officers-face-unprecedented-surge-vehicle-ramming-attacks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> in November that since Jan. 20, there had been 99 car ramming attacks against federal law enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>In November, illegal alien Ever Gabriel Alvarez-Campos was charged after allegedly &ldquo;intentionally&rdquo; ramming &ldquo;his car into an ICE vehicle and fle[eing] the scene.&rdquo; In a separate incident in Chicago, &ldquo;Border Patrol faced four different vehicular ramming attacks in just one day.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>In September an anti-ICE <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/09\/25\/axios-nyt-blame-republicans-for-noticing-leftist-motives-of-anti-ice-shooter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">shooter opened fire <\/a>on an ICE transportation vehicle in Dallas, fatally striking one detainee while injuring two others. Rounds found near the perpetrator were inscribed with &ldquo;ANTI-ICE.&rdquo; Just two months prior, alleged members of Antifa attacked the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas. The facility was housing illegal aliens ahead of their deportation. The attackers &ldquo;began by shooting fireworks toward the facility and vandalizing vehicles and a guard shed,&rdquo; according to an <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/10\/16\/doj-brings-terrorism-charges-against-militant-antifa-cell-that-attacked-ice-facility\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">indictment<\/a> of two of the alleged conspirators.<\/p>\n<p>As McLaughlin said, Wednesday&rsquo;s attack against federal law enforcement is &ldquo;the direct consequence of constant attacks and demonization of our officers by sanctuary politicians who fuel and encourage rampant assaults on our law enforcement.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">\n<div class=\"article-author-description fst-italic\">      Brianna Lyman is an elections correspondent at The Federalist.
