Maduro is currently imprisoned in New York to face federal charges for those crimes.<\/p>\n<p>While Paul isn&rsquo;t opposed to the ousting of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/colin-kaepernick-to-publish-book-of-essays-on-abolishing-the-police-featuring-convicted-cop-killer\/\" title=\"Colin Kaepernick To Publish Book Of Essays On Abolishing The Police Featuring Convicted Cop-Killer\">socialist leader<\/a>, he argued that Congress should have approved the operation resulting in Maduro&rsquo;s capture.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Time will tell if regime change in Venezuela is successful without significant monetary or human cost. Best though, not to forget, that our founders limited the executive&rsquo;s power to go to war without Congressional authorization for a reason&mdash;to limit the horror of war and limit war to acts of defense,&rdquo; he <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RandPaul\/status\/2007506348481585267?s=20\">wrote in a lengthy post<\/a> on X. &ldquo;Let&rsquo;s hope those precepts of peace are not forgotten in our justified relief that Maduro is gone and the Venezuelan people will have a second chance.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Graham&rsquo;s response to the news about Maduro and Venezuela was much more generous toward Trump.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;If you can&rsquo;t celebrate the fact that our military, under President Trump&rsquo;s command, bravely captured and brought to justice an evil, <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >corrupt narcoterrorist dictator<\/a> with American blood on his hands, then your hatred of President Trump denies you the ability to celebrate making America safer and creating a path for liberating the highly oppressed people of Venezuela,&rdquo; he <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/LindseyGrahamSC\/status\/2007466123009126597\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">President Donald Trump, accompanied by Sen. (AP Photo\/Alex Brandon)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Speaking with reporters aboard Air Force One late Sunday, Trump hinted that <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/colombia\/\">Colombia<\/a> and <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/cuba\/\">Cuba<\/a> were next to be met with military force. Graham was present, nodding in agreement with the president.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;You just wait for Cuba,&rdquo; Graham <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DailyCaller\/status\/2008012676774220004\">warned<\/a>. &ldquo;Cuba is a communist dictatorship that&rsquo;s killed priests and nuns. They&rsquo;ve preyed on their own people. Their days are numbered.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>At one point, when Trump said Cuba is &ldquo;ready to fall,&rdquo; Graham <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ggreenwald\/status\/2008149797983686983\">grinningly said<\/a>, &ldquo;Yes.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>In response to a reporter&rsquo;s question about Graham&rsquo;s warning to Cuba, Paul joked that legislation could be a viable method to prevent Graham from constantly meeting with Trump.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;There should be a law that Lindsey Graham can only enter the White House every other week and that he&rsquo;s only to meet with mid-level people, not the president. No more golf outings,&rdquo; he <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/acyn\/status\/2008320158469869782?s=46\">suggested<\/a>. &ldquo;It&rsquo;s always been an anomaly because Lindsey Graham has been diametrically opposed to everything Trump has ever said on regime change.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Although Latin American nations were quick to denounce Maduro&rsquo;s arrest, some of them <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2026\/01\/05\/latin-america-silent-as-trump-menaces-cuba-colombia-and-mexico-00711983?utm_medium=activitypub&amp;utm_source=flipboard\">have not addressed<\/a> the threat from Trump and Graham in a meaningful capacity. Cuba remains silent, but Colombian President Gustavo Petro <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/petrogustavo\/status\/2008063024343515623\">vowed<\/a> to &ldquo;take up arms&rdquo; in the event of a U.S. attack.<\/p>\n<p>Secretary of State <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/marco-rubio\/\">Marco Rubio<\/a>, who was born to Cuban immigrants, has been tasked with leading the overhaul of Venezuela&rsquo;s government. The Trump administration says the United States is currently running Venezuela, even as Maduro was replaced by his former vice president.
