On his first day in office Mamdani also signed three new orders focused on housing affordability and one establishing his administration&#8217;s structure. Among the nine Adams orders he rescinded were measures that opposed the BDS movement in city contracting, adopted the IHRA definition of antisemitism, restricted protests near houses of worship, <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >allowed federal immigration agents<\/a> on Rikers Island, and banned horse carriages.Mamdani said the post\u2011indictment orders (Adams&#8217;s indictment was later dropped) had turned many New Yorkers away from politics and were contrary to working\u2011class interests. One order created the structure for his administration.<\/p>\n<p>Mamdani also signed an order wiping away every executive order signed by Adams after Sept. 26, 2024, the day Adams was indicted on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-york-lt-gov-brian-benjamin-arrested-for-campaign-finance-scheme\/\" title=\"New York Lt. IHRA protects from discrimination Jews who believe in self determination and provides clarity on the definition,&rdquo; she <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/InnaVernikov\/status\/2006876588579709000\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">posted<\/a> on X.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;@GovKathyHochul knew all along that Mamdani was going to eliminate IHRA on day one, (it was his top campaign promise) and yet she REFUSED to take action. In June of 2022, she signed a NON-BINDING PROCLAMATION adopting IHRA, but never signed an EO. @GovKathyHochul can fix this with the stroke of a pen! Will she stand up to Mamdani or will she cower to avoid a Mamdani primary? The Jewish community is watching!&rdquo; she posted.<\/p>\n<p>Vernikov also objected to the elimination of an order that banned protests near houses of worship.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"css-1jxf684 r-bcqeeo r-1ttztb7 r-qvutc0 r-poiln3\">&ldquo;Mamdani &nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"r-18u37iz\">@NYCMayor <\/span>also just SCRATCHED Executive Order 61, which established zones in which protests close to the entrance of HOUSES OF WORSHIP would be prohibited\/regulated. The EO also added additional restrictions on protest activities during publicly scheduled religious services.
