The guidance clarifies that telehealth and other remote-care services can be received before meeting a high-deductible health plan&#8217;s deductible while still allowing HSA contributions, and that this change is now permanent. Beginning next year, bronze and catastrophic plans offered through an Exchange will be treated as HSA-compatible even if thay don&#8217;t meet the conventional HDHP definition, and <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >qualifying direct primary care arrangements<\/a> will also permit HSA contributions. deductible while also &ldquo;remaining eligible to contribute to an HSA&rdquo; was made permanent, according to the Treasury Department and IRS.<\/p>\n<p>Starting in the new year, &ldquo;bronze and catastrophic plans available through an Exchange are considered HSA-compatible, regardless of whether the plans satisfy the general definition of an HDHP,&rdquo; they also come with &ldquo;higher out-of-pocket costs when you need care,&rdquo; according to HealthCare.gov.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, catastrophic plans &ldquo;have lower monthly premiums but the highest out-of-pocket costs and cover at least 3 primary care visits per year before you finish paying the deductible.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Such plans are meant for protecting from major accidents or illnesses.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;This expands the ability of people enrolled in these plans to contribute to HSAs, which they generally have not been able to do in the past,&rdquo;
