Omar, however, herself failed to follow congressional norms by not disclosing the value of her assets and potentially underrepresenting her husband&rsquo;s investment positions.<\/p>\n<p>Omar&rsquo;s rapidly-acquired wealth has drawn renewed scrutiny amid reports about widespread fraud in the Somali community she helps represent in Congress. Media organizations have used this filing to <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3789217\/filings-show-ilhan-omar-net-worth-up-by-millions-dollars\/\">produce reports<\/a> claiming that Omar is worth up to $30 million, an assertion the congresswoman flatly denies.<\/p>\n<p>A senior staffer from Omar&rsquo;s office previously told the <em>Washington Examiner <\/em>that the values on her disclosure form reflected the full value of the businesses rather than the value of her husband&rsquo;s individual shares in them. Omar has <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@ilhanmn\/video\/7545956652680367373\">personally used<\/a> this explanation to dismiss critics, calling her husband one of &ldquo;several partners&rdquo; in the two firms.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>California business records, however, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/39726466-1.pdf\">show <\/a>that Timothy Mynett, Omar&rsquo;s husband, is one of just two individuals named as a partner on the winery&rsquo;s statement of organization. The other is its CEO, former top Democratic operative William Hailer.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>While it&rsquo;s possible the winery has added more partners or diluted Mynett&rsquo;s stake since the winery was founded in 2020, it&rsquo;s impossible to know for certain because Omar hasn&rsquo;t disclosed how much her husband&rsquo;s share of the seven-figure venture is currently worth.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But on paper, the winery business appears to have boomed, although not without some controversy. The value of the winery grew from up to $50,000 in 2023 to up to $5 million in Omar&rsquo;s most <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rep-mccarthy-give-me-speakers-gavel-and-well-investigate-powerful-democrats\/\" title=\".... Along the way, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/minnesotareformer.com\/2024\/06\/05\/rep-ilhan-omars-husband-accused-of-swindling-investor-in-their-california-winery\/\">an investor reportedly accused<\/a> Mynett and Hailer of failing to pay him hundreds of thousands of dollars they&rsquo;d promised would materialize from the growth of the winery. <\/p>\n<p>And the value of Mynett&rsquo;s venture capital firm, Rose Lake Capital, seems to have exploded even more dramatically in the past two years. Omar said the firm was worth between $1 and $1,000 in 2023; by the following year, it was worth millions of dollars.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL), who is <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3900240\/cory-mills-used-campaign-funds-to-party-at-beachfront-resorts-charter-private-jets\/\">embroiled <\/a>in <span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">several ethics scandals, managed <\/span>to&nbsp;report&nbsp;the seven-figure value of his 49% stake in the security firm Pacem Solutions International. Reps. <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/disclosures-clerk.house.gov\/public_disc\/financial-pdfs\/2024\/10066122.pdf\">April McClain Delaney<\/a> (D-MD), <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/disclosures-clerk.house.gov\/FinancialDisclosure\">Bradley Schneider<\/a> (D-IL), <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/disclosures-clerk.house.gov\/public_disc\/financial-pdfs\/2024\/10066931.pdf\">Suzan DelBene<\/a> (D-WA), and <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/disclosures-clerk.house.gov\/public_disc\/financial-pdfs\/2024\/10066924.pdf\">Sara Jacobs<\/a> (D-CA) all have partial stakes in private equity firms, hedge funds, and real estate ventures for which they provide specific valuation ranges.<\/p>\n<p>Rose Lake Capital, the venture capital firm where Omar&rsquo;s husband is a partner, is also run by <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.roselakecap.com\/willhailer\">Hailer<\/a>, signaling a close business relationship between the congresswoman&rsquo;s spouse and the wealthy former political operative. <\/p>\n<p>By not reporting the value of Mynett&rsquo;s stakes, Omar is effectively hiding the extent of her wealth from the public.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Although Omar has not disclosed her net worth, the congresswoman has denied allegations that she became wealthy while in Congress, pointing out her student loan debt and noting that her husband&rsquo;s winery generated relatively little income in 2024.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3351774\/politically-connected-somali-nonprofit-taxpayer-dollars-mishandling-millions\/\"><strong>POLITICALLY CONNECTED SOMALI NONPROFIT GROUP PULLED IN TAXPAYER DOLLARS AFTER MISHANDLING MILLIONS<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Omar has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/katie-porter-denies-dumping-potatoes-on-ex-husband-in-renewed-domestic-abuse-scrutiny\/\" title=\"Katie Porter denies dumping potatoes on ex-... in renewed domestic abuse scrutiny\">faced renewed scrutiny<\/a> in the press amid reports of Minnesota&rsquo;s Somali community running a variety of fraud schemes in the state. <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/ilhan-omar-disclosures-show-husbands-companies-surged-value-minnesota-reels-from-9b-fraud\">Conservative critics<\/a> have pointed out that the value of one of her husband&rsquo;s companies grew from under $1,000 in 2023 to over $5 million in 2024 amid widespread fraud in Minnesota. There is, however, no evidence that Omar profited from fraud or was involved in it in any way.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The congresswoman, however, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NicholasBallasy\/status\/2001747394241720720?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E2001747394241720720%7Ctwgr%5E8b8c5445602474ea0e933c431cc289eff7db409e%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fthenationaldesk.com%2Fnews%2Famericas-news-now%2Filhan-omar-says-she-doesnt-regret-supporting-meals-act-amid-its-fraud-allegations-kash-patel-minnesota-fbi-covid-19\">has stated<\/a> that she does not regret sponsoring the MEALS Act of 2020, which was linked to the &ldquo;Feeding Our Future&rdquo; fraud scheme in Minnesota, where members of the state&rsquo;s Somali community defrauded the public for tens of millions of dollars.
