Josh Shapiro, along with the Democratic attorneys general of Oregon, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Wisconsin, Washington, and D.C., are jumping onto this lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield is spearheading this charge.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;By targeting Oregon providers, HHS is putting care at risk and forcing families to choose between their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/scott-powell-has-globalism-met-its-waterloo-an-eight-point-plan-to-assure-its-demise\/\" title=\"Scott Powell: Has Globalism Met Its Waterloo? An Eight-Point Plan to Assure Its Demise\">personal health care choices<\/a> and their doctor&rsquo;s ability to practice,&rdquo; Rayfield <a href=\"https:\/\/www.doj.state.or.us\/media-home\/news-media-releases\/ag-rayfield-leads-lawsuit-challenging-attack-on-gender-affirming-care\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>. &ldquo;Healthcare decisions belong with families and their healthcare providers, not the government.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>(Curiously, this argument never arose from government officials during the height of COVID restrictions.)<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit <a href=\"https:\/\/storage.courtlistener.com\/recap\/gov.uscourts.ord.191371\/gov.uscourts.ord.191371.1.0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">itself<\/a> was filed in an Oregon District Court and claimed that the HHS mandate causes &ldquo;immediate, significant, and harmful impacts&rdquo; on the 19 states, plus D.C.<\/p>\n<p>When Axios reached out to the HHS for comment, they were redirected to one of Trump&rsquo;s earliest executive orders.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Accordingly, it is the policy of the United States that it will not fund, sponsor, promote, assist, or support the so-called &lsquo;transition&rsquo; of a child from one sex to another, and it will rigorously enforce all laws that prohibit or limit these destructive and life-altering procedures,&rdquo; Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/01\/protecting-children-from-chemical-and-surgical-mutilation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a> in that January order.<\/p>\n<p>The president elaborated, &ldquo;Across the country today, medical professionals are maiming and sterilizing a growing number of impressionable children under the radical and false claim that adults can change a child&rsquo;s sex through a series of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/extreme-rewriting-of-federal-civil-rights-law-heres-how-the-biden-administration-is-pushing-its-transgender-agenda\/\" title=\"\u2018Extreme Rewriting Of Federal Civil Rights Law\u2019: Here\u2019s How The Biden Administration Is Pushing Its Transgender Agenda\">irreversible medical interventions<\/a>. This dangerous trend will be a stain on our Nation&rsquo;s history, and it must end.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Countless children soon regret that they have been mutilated and begin to grasp the horrifying tragedy that they will never be able to conceive children of their own or nurture their children through breastfeeding.
