Last year Brock Purdy, then on a rookie deal, went viral for surprising his O-line with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/michael-goodwin-radical-left-turns-on-woke-new-york-times\/\" title=\"Michael Goodwin: Radical Left Turns on Woke New York Times\">expensive gifts<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>This year Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love drew attention for buying Nike Dunk sneakers for the whole team. Critics pointed out the gift cost was modest (reported under $5K total, even using generous estimates around $30K) compared with his four-year, $220 million contract (about $55 million per year).<\/p>\n<p>Social media reaction was mixed: some praised him for including the whole roster and noted many teammates can afford their own gifts, while others called the gesture stingy for a player with Love&#8217;s earnings and suggested Nike may have provided the shoes through an endorsement. Green Bay Packers star quarterback Jordan Love is similarly going viral for his Christmas <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hispanic-world-celebrates-dia-de-los-reyes-christian-feast-of-the-magi\/\" title=\"Hispanic World Celebrates Dia de los Reyes, Christian Feast of the Magi\">gift-giving<\/a> &mdash; albeit for very dissimilar reasons.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Oh Boy: Packers QB Jordan Love has gone viral for spending under $5K to buy all his teammates Nike Dunk sneakers for Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>Love signed a $220 million contract and is getting paid $55 million per year.<\/p>\n<p>Fans are shocked at how cheap he is&hellip;&#128563;&#128556; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/tBPL3fh5gB\">pic.twitter.com\/tBPL3fh5gB<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Dov Kleiman (@NFL_DovKleiman) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NFL_DovKleiman\/status\/2004268279125483682?\">December 25, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Of note, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spotrac.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/47621\/jordan-love\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Spotrac<\/a> notes, Love signed a sizable four-year, $220 million contract extension last summer with Green Bay.<\/p>\n<p>That deal includes a $55 million average salary, $75 million just for signing the deal, and over $160 million guaranteed.<\/p>\n<p>Despite that, he opted to get his entire team&hellip; Nike Dunks, which are somewhat affordable Nike shoes.<\/p>\n<p>If you round up the number of players and coaches on the Packers to 100 (there are surely fewer than that) and go with the most expensive Nike Dunks on the market (roughly $200, but let&rsquo;s round up to $300) that&rsquo;s still $30,000 total &mdash; or about .05 percent of his annual salary.<\/p>\n<p>As they are with most issues, social media was split on whether Love should be lauded or criticized for his gift-giving.<\/p>\n<p>Some on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cuomo-slammed-for-blaming-n-y-covid-deaths-on-government-incompetence\/\" title=\"Cuomo slammed for blaming N.Y. COVID deaths on government incompetence\">social media pointed<\/a> out that quarterbacks are usually expected to <em>lavish&nbsp;<\/em>their offensive lineman, and don&rsquo;t need to get anything for their other teammates, oddly enough.
