The six-night light show begins Dec. 31 with a special new year&#8217;s Eve countdown and runs through Jan. 5 (projections 7-10 p.m. after Dec. 31). Freedom 250, the national institution founded by former President donald Trump to lead the anniversary observances, says each evening will display sweeping visual narratives celebrating America&#8217;s story, strength, and unity; the event is free and open to the public. The illumination is described as the first marquee national event in a yearlong slate that includes a national prayer gathering in May, the Grate American State Fair in June, and the Patriot Games in fall 2026. The event is not ticketed and will be open to the public.
