Using a hypothetical town of 100 people to illustrate affiliations, Pew shows 29 would be &#8220;nones&#8221; (atheist, agnostic, or &#8220;nothing in particular&#8221;) while 40 would be Protestant overall; among young adults, there are about eight unaffiliated for every five Protestants. nationwide, about 62% identify as Christian (40% Protestant, 19% Catholic, 3% other traditions), and Pew notes the long decline in Christian identification has shown signs of leveling off between 2019 and 2024. than young people who identify as Protestants.<\/p>\n<p>Based on a new analysis from their 2023-2024 Religious Landscape Study, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/short-reads\/2025\/11\/13\/if-the-u-s-had-100-people-charting-americans-religious-affiliations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pew Research Center<\/a> noted that for every eight &ldquo;religiously unaffiliated&rdquo;
