The Trump Administration will no longer tolerate these egregious acts of extraterritorial censorship.<\/p>\n<p>Today, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/StateDept?\">@StateDept<\/a> will take steps to&hellip;<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Secretary Marco Rubio (@SecRubio) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SecRubio\/status\/2003547575580815814?\">December 23, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Although <a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/government\/diplomacy\/rubio-issues-sanctions-european-officials-who-attempted-censor-american-free\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Just The News<\/a> reported that Rubio never named who these individuals are, surely that information will come out with any action taken.<\/p>\n<p>There does not seem to be a record of a move like this prior to Monday.<\/p>\n<p>In June, French Member of Parliament Pouria Amirshahi was denied entry to the United States, with news outlet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lemonde.fr\/en\/international\/article\/2025\/06\/19\/french-mp-banned-from-entering-the-us_6742506_4.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Le Monde<\/a> speculating whether the decision came from the official&rsquo;s support of creating a &ldquo;progressive international&rdquo; alliance to counter &ldquo;reactionary neofascism.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/d43181bb-ca62-4510-927c-72430b0b0acd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Financial Times<\/a> reported in January that the U.S. had sanctioned Hungarian Prime Minister Chief of Staff Antal Rog&aacute;n for corruption allegations.<\/p>\n<p>That is to say, it is not unprecedented to impose restrictions on European officials in 2025, but Rubio&rsquo;s reasons are novel given the challenges presented as a consequence of globalization.<\/p>\n<p>The world&rsquo;s increasing interconnectedness offers unique obstacles for the free world. European bureaucrats thousands of miles away hope to collude with tech companies, using cyberspace as their medium to stifle Americans&rsquo; rights.<\/p>\n<p>It&rsquo;s a bold but clearly needed decision from the Trump administration to bar these people from entering, or to deport them.<\/p>\n<p>We aren&rsquo;t playing these games.
