AAA reported the state average for regular unleaded at $2.44 per gallon (mid-grade $2.82, premium $3.16, diesel $3.06), down from last Christmas&#8217;s $2.97 and slightly below the national average of $2.86. Prices vary widely across the state &#8211; Pitkin County topped the list at $4.13 while Pueblo was lowest at $2.21 (a $1.92 spread).AAA also projects heavier holiday travel, forecasting 122.4 million Americans will travel 50+ miles from dec. 21-Jan. 1,a 2.2% increase over 2024. Nationally, Hawaii has the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/average-u-s-gas-price-3-44-a-gallon-the-highest-since-2014\/\" title=\"... The state also comes in at less than the national average.<\/p>\n<p>According to AAA, the Colorado&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/gasprices.aaa.com\/?state=CO\">average<\/a>&nbsp;for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gas-prices-now-highest-since-2014-amid-supply-concerns\/\" title=\"... ... This is a 2.2% increase over 2024.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Holiday celebrations look different for everyone, but a common thread is the desire to travel, whether it&rsquo;s returning to your hometown or exploring new destinations,&rdquo; said Stacey Barber, vice president of AAA Travel.<\/p>\n<p>Colorado&rsquo;s gas average is slightly lower than the national average of $2.86, though there is a wide range of prices throughout counties in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Pitkin County came in Monday with the state&rsquo;s highest average at $4.13, while Pueblo was the lowest at $2.21 a gallon.
