Legnon was found with weapons and tactical gear during a traffic stop in Louisiana and is charged with making threats in interstate commerce. The FBI has linked him to recent New YearS eve terrorist plots in Los Angeles involving TILF members planning bomb attacks on logistics centers and threats against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. to investigate Minnesota fraud<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/crime\/3918860\/police-video-suspect-brown-university-shooting\/\">Police release new video of person of interest in Brown University shooting as manhunt resumes<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-paywall\">\n<p>Earlier this month, Legnon was under surveillance by the FBI due to accusations that he was affiliated with four individuals recently charged in court with plotting multiple New Year&rsquo;s Eve terrorist attacks across Los Angeles <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/3917869\/doj-thwarts-new-years-eve-terrorist-plot-los-angeles-left-wing-group\/\">for TILF<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>When Legnon was stopped by law enforcement on a Louisiana highway on Friday, the former Marine had an assault-style rifle, pistol, gas canister, and body armor in his car, according to court papers.<\/p>\n<p>Legnon served as a New Iberia police officer before being placed on administrative leave in May 2022 and resigning that fall.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He now stands accused of being connected to TILF, an extremist group that perpetuates Marxist <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/turtleislandliberationfrontla\/\">ideology advocating<\/a> &ldquo;liberation through decolonization and tribal sovereignty&rdquo; and argues that &ldquo;freeing the world from American imperialism is the only way to a safe and peaceful future.&rdquo; The Trump administration has described TILF as a &ldquo;far-left, pro-Palestine, anti-government, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-fbi-foils-los-angeles-terror-plot-4-pro-palestinian-suspects-jailed\/\" title=\"BREAKING: ... Terror Plot \u2013 4 Pro...Palestinian Suspects Jailed\">anti-capitalist group<\/a>.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Justice Department also charged four alleged TILF members on Monday with planning to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/u-s-and-saudi-militaries-on-high-alert-over-intelligence-warning-of-imminent-attack-report\/\" title=\"U.S. And Saudi Militaries On High Alert Over Intelligence Warning Of Imminent Attack: Report\">launch terrorist attacks<\/a> in Los Angeles later this month.<\/p>\n<p>The plan called for backpacks with bombs to be simultaneously detonated in at least five locations targeting two unnamed U.S. companies, described as &ldquo;logistic centers,&rdquo; at midnight on New Year&rsquo;s Eve, according to the agency.
